Australian Registered Migration Agents

Please note that Migration Agents acting in Australia are required by law to be registered with the licensing authority known as the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA). As part of the licensing agreement, Australian registered Migration Agents must:

Be able to demonstrate that they have completed an appropriate University qualification which is recognised in Australia for the purpose of practicing Australian immigration law;

Hold a current license to practice immigration law in Australia and be free of sanctions which prevent them from offering legal advice. To view Agent details and sanction information, please visit https://www.mara.gov.au/;

Demonstrate a current working knowledge of immigration practices in Australia by attending conferences and satisfying Continuing Professional Development courses offered each year;

Abide by the professional Code of Conduct and work to uphold the integrity of the Australian immigration industry;

Make you aware of, and be answerable to, the formal process of complaints should you consider that the Agent's conduct is in breach of the Code of Conduct;

Maintain a current professional library including the Australian Migration Act and Regulations, as well as supplementary material including the Department's Procedure Advice Manual.

Warning: Legal Representation

Despite the Department of Immigration's best efforts to try and regulate the immigration industry in Australia, a number of loopholes still exist that enable persons to continue to provide unlawful and / or inappropriate immigration advice.
