The Permanent Partner Visas (subclasses 801/100) are for persons who want to live permanantly in Australia with their Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen partner.

Subclass 801/100 applicants must:

1. Be sponsored by their partner who is over 18 years of age and an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen;

2. Be holders of a temporary Partner visa and be able to demonstrate that they have been in a committed relationship with their partner for a minimum of 2 years from the date of the initial temporary visa application; or

3. Have lived in a defacto or married relationship with their partner for a period of 3 years prior to making the application; or

3. Have lived in a defacto or married relationship with their partner for a period of 2 years prior to making the application and have children from the relationship.

This visa can be applied for by both opposite sex and same sex couples.
